Cytopathology Laboratories is a Cytology Laboratory/Clinic. We believe in offering, reliability and ethics. As children of George Papanikolaou, it could not be otherwise. To him we owe the medical procedure that has saved more lives from the scourge of cancer than any other. Knowing our duty leads to fulfilling our duty. As Doctors and as fellow human beings we wish to cooperate with our colleagues in a way that serves the patient’s interest.
All samples received from our laboratory are shared between the two Medical Cytologists, who examine them. Only the samples which are negative are signed by the one Doctor. All the rest, including inflammation and reactive lesions, will be reviewed by both Doctors and the diagnosis will be signed by both.
In accordance with international standards, we consider the history of each patient an important factor for the correct diagnosis. The morphological image is judged to be normal or not, always associated with a specific history. That is why we ask our partner Doctors to accompany the sent samples with a complete history.
